Tocal Field Days: Enjoy a Taste of the Country

Head out to Tocal Field Days during the first weekend of May. This three-day agricultural event at Tocal Agricultural College has lots of fun things to do for the family, whether you’re from the city or the bush.

As well as showcasing the latest in farming techniques and technologies, machinery, remote devices, solar energy and award winning livestock you can experience local Good Food & Wine, demonstrations and expect a boat load of fun.

Spend some time at the animal nursery. It’s a favourite with kids and parents alike.

You can also get your photo taken with a llama or watch the piglet races.

See the working dogs as well as all the action in the arena. Your family can watch the Heavy Horse Demonstration, the Amber Lawrence free concert and Celebrity Chef Anna Ployviou doing live demonstrations at the event on May 6 & 7.

How fast can you boil your billy? Parents or kids 16 years or older can enter the Billy Boiling Competition. Head to the area opposite Nash Park stage and register to enter. Heats are held 3 – 4 times a day. All contestants are given a block of timber, a box of matches and a billy of water – the rest is up to you. Heat prizes and a major prize for the best time over the three day event.

Date: Tocal Field Days runs from Friday May 5 to Sunday May 7, 2023 at Tocal College.

Location: Tocal College is at 815 Tocal Road in Tocal and is 15 minutes drive north of Maitland or 45 minutes drive from Newcastle.

Opening Hours:  9am-5pm Friday & Saturday, 9am-4pm Sunday

Price: Adults $18.00 (online) $20.00 (at gate), Kids $5.00 (5-7 years) FREE (0-4 years). Earlybird and return ticket discounts available. Tickets available online. Limited tickets available at the gate.
