Redhead Pump Track Now Open

| | ,

Check out the brand new Redhead pump track. Lake Macquarie City Council officially opened the Redhead pump track this week and it’s sure to be a popular destination for the remainder of the school holidays.

The $450,000 Redhead pump track – the first of its kind for Lake Macquarie features a 150m track overlooking Redhead Beach.

The pump track is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to expert riders, and is suitable for bikes, skateboards and scooters.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of a pump track, it’s a circuit of rollers, banked turns and jumps.

Pump tracks are designed to be ridden by riders “pumping” and generating momentum through moving their bodies up and down, instead of pedalling or pushing.

The Redhead pump track was designed by industry leaders Velosolutions, in consultation with the local community and it’s proving popular with kids of all ages.
