Situated on the western side of the lake, Bolton Point Park has breathtaking views of Lake Macquarie. It’s a great spot to enjoy the playground, explore the park or go fishing and boating.
The park is lined with pine trees and has several giant fig trees throughout the park, which create shade and encourage climbing. Hours can be spent finding the perfect branch.
The small size playground includes stepping stones, swinging ascending stepping stones, netted areas, a rope bridge, and double slide.
There is a swing, toddler swing and a circular swing that can fit a few children at once.
There is also a spinning roundabout for thrill seekers and two spring rockers for the little ones.
The playground is on woodchips and is unfenced, and close to the lake’s edge.
Bolton Point Park is a popular picnic spot gathering large groups, epically on public holidays. Many groups set up gazebos on the water’s edge and spend the day frolicking in the water.
It is a popular spot for water skiing and tubing as Bolton Point is often sheltered from the wind.
There is a boat ramp and jetty at the park, but get in quick as parking with a trailer is limited. The public jetty is popular for swimming and fishing. The jetty has beautiful views of Fennel Bay bridge and across to Toronto.
As well as fishing from the jetty, many people fish from the shoreline at this park.
Bolton Point Park also has a court with netball ring at one end and Basketball hoop at the other.
There is a sealed path that leads through the park which are great for rollerskating and bike riding. The sealed path ends at the edge of the park and changes to an unsealed walking trail.
Follow the trail for an easy five-minute walk that dots past houses and across a little bridge to arrive at Bolton Point Cricket Oval and Tennis Courts. There is one picnic table at the Oval.
