Located next to Waratah Oval, on the border of Waratah and Georgetown, Waratah Park Playground is a great spot for families. Kids can climb, swing and slide on play equipment. There’s also lots of trees for shade.
Waratah Park Playground is only a small playground, but there’s everything kids need to have a fun time including swings, bouncies, climbing nets and a slide.
There’s three swings to choose from; a group swing, a regular child’s swing and a baby/toddler swing.
There’s also a great monkey bars structure, with a platform at each end and two poles in the middle to climb up or slide down.
For kids who like to climb, there’s large climbing nets and a climbing wall with handhold and footholds on either side.
The two original bouncies have been kept at the playground.
There’s a metal slide that’s shaded for most of the day by the large trees surrounding the playground. The trees also provide shade over a small timber bench. The kids loved the crocheted ‘feet’ on the bench.
Nearby Waratah Oval provides plenty of space for kids to run around and play tag. If you bring a ball with you, it’s the perfect spot (when not in use) to practice some soccer and footy skills.
