Think Fast & Play the 5 Second Rule Board Game

Get your family thinking fast and play the 5 Second Rule game. In this board game, players have to come up with three answers within 5 seconds. Sounds easy but when the pressure’s on, it can be a challenge.

You only have a limited time to answer questions like:

• Name 3 International Airports
• Name 3 Favourite Williams
• Name 3 Things You Can’t Do in the Dark
• Name 3 Planets
• Name 3 U.S. Presidents

The game consists of a board, 376 double-sided question cards and a timer. To play the game, you’ll need at least 3 players.

To play the game, a player draws a card and reads it before flipping the timer. The player in the Hot Seat then has 5 seconds to answer the question. If they provide 3 answers before the ball hits the bottom of the timer, they move 1 space on the board. If they can’t provide 3 answers, the next player has to answer the question within 5 seconds but can’t use any of the previously mentioned answers.

To make the game more interesting, there’s Pass On and Switch cards. Pass On card enables a player to pass it on to the player on the left while the Switch card provides you to switch your card for another card if you don’t like the question. First player to FINISH wins the game.

The best thing about the 5 Second Rule is that it gets you in the habit of quick thinking. There’s no complicated strategy required. It just involves coming up with answers quickly before the timer winds down. It’s a fun family game that will keep you laughing especially when you hear some of the answers that players blurt out.

The game requires between 3 and 6 players. 5 Second Rule is best suited for kids for kids 8+ as there are some questions that involve more advanced  knowledge.

If you have younger children aged 5 and up, choose the 5 Second Rule Jr. This involves easier questions that kids will be able to answer and bonus time squares on the board.

Questions include:

• Name 3 People who live on your street
• Name 3 Apps you play
• Name 3 Things are funny
• Name 3 Things you do before going to bed
• Name 3 Animals that growl

You can modify 5 Second Rule Jr to make it easier for younger players like giving them 10 seconds to answer the question or only asking them to provide 2 answers.
