What Local School Playgrounds are Open During School Holidays?

Head to your local school for a play these winter school holidays. During the school holidays, the NSW Department of Education is rolling out the Share Our Space program at selected schools across the region which will open up the playgrounds, ovals and sports fields for the whole community to enjoy.

Share Our Space opens participating schools to the community during the school holidays from 8 am to 5 pm every day during the school holidays, including public holidays. School facilities are unsupervised. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.

Please note, selected schools on this list marked “WEEKENDS ONLY” will only open on weekends and public holidays from 8 am to 5 pm during the school holidays.

The Department of Education’s School Infrastructure NSW unit manages the program. This involves opening and closing school gates each morning and evening. External cleaning services will be provided to all participating schools throughout the holidays and at the end of the program. During Share Our Space, school toilets will not be open.

Not all schools are open. In the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Hunter region, the following schools will be participating organised by LGA.

Schools participating in Share Our Space are subject to change at short notice.

NSW Government Share our Space will update school activities, locations and school participation between 8.30 am and 5 pm on working days.
