Get your adventure on at Amaze & Play in the Garden. Hunter Valley Gardens will be transformed into an adventure playground this school holidays. Open from Saturday September 23 until Sunday October 8, event activities run from 10am to 3pm with the Gardens open from 9am – 5pm.
This is a perfect day out in the spring sunshine and is less than an hour from Newcastle, an hour from the Central Coast and a short two-hour drive from Sydney.
Amaze & Play in the Garden will include a number of different entertainment zones including:
- Fairy & Gnome Garden – Storybook
- Spring Adventure Maze – Event Area
- Inflatable Obstacle Course – Event Area
- Inflatable Junior Jumping Zone – Event Area
- Quiet Zone – Igloo Marquee
- Creative Zone – Event Area
- Face Painting – Event Area
- Totem Poles – Ferris Wheel Path
- Wheelbarrows – Rose Garden
- Food Stalls – Event Area
Kids can enjoy the giant spring maze, inflatable obstacle course, and bubble zone.
The Storybook Garden will be transformed into a fairy and gnome wonderland with beautiful installations along the way.
Look out for bright birdhouses, potted colour displays and hanging baskets.
Kids can burn off energy exploring the giant maze or going through the obstacle course.
The Giant Jungle Maze will keep you entertained as you try and find the hidden animals in the twists and turns of the 400m of pathways, including deadlines to challenge your sense of direction.
Bounce, scramble and climb your way through the thrilling Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course (height and weight restrictions apply).
There’s also junior jumping castles for the smaller members of the family to enjoy (height restrictions apply).
Once you’ve finished exploring, grab a ride token and head over to The Swing Chair, Giant Ferris Wheel and Superslide for the little ones with lion hearts or choose to take it easy on The Carousel or Tea Cup Ride.
The 25-metre-tall Ferris Wheel will offer you incredible, panoramic views of the Gardens and all the spring blooms and will be your only chance to see the Gardens from above.
Amaze & Play in the Garden activities will be open every day 10am – 3pm from 23 September – 8 October. The Gardens will be open from 9am – 5pm with last entry at 4.30pm. Rides are open between 10am – 3pm.

Tickets are available from the ticket booth in the event area and are $6 per ride token or you can purchase a bonus pack of 6 ride tokens for $30. Height and age restrictions apply.
Guests can purchase a token to participate on our amusement rides providing they meet all the following safety requirements for the ride they wish to participate on.
- Ferris Wheel: Children below 120cm must ride with an adult.
- Carousel: Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (adult must stand next to child).
- Tea Cup: Children between 95cm – 120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.
- Swing Chair: Children between 110cm – 120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.
- Superslide: Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.
Children must be supervised at all times.
